The Contortionist, die amerikanische Progressive-Rock-Formation, haben eine Box namens „Retrospective: Live From Atlanta“ veröffentlicht. Die Box enthält drei Doppel-LPs mit Konzertmitschnitten der Band aus dem Jahr 2021, die damals live im Internet gestreamt wurden.
Das Repertoire ist, wie der Name der Box schon andeutet, retrospektiver Natur — The Contortionist haben bei der Songauswahl die härtesten Momente ihrer bisherigen Karriere als Kompositionsmaßstab gesetzt. Obendrauf gibt’s noch die komplette Live-Umsetzung des Albums „Clairvoyant“, das als eines der meistgeschätzten Werke der Band gilt.
Die Box umfasst stattliche 30 Songs, ist mengenmäßig aber auf gerade mal 1500 Kopien limitiert — weltweit.

Die Veröffentlichung dieser Dokumentation haben The Contortionist mit zwei Videos zu den Live-Versionen von Clairvoyant und Geocentric Confusion begleitet, die du dir unten ansehen kannst. Die Videos hat Michael Wiley umgesetzt.
Das Konzertdokument haben The Contortionist selbst produziert. Den Mix übernahm John Douglas, das Mastering besorgte Maor Appelbaum in seinem Studio Maor Applebaum Mastering.
